While very much a family-friendly resort, Samoëns also caters to the dedicated outdoor and sports enthusiast. The Haut-Giffre valley is in fact quite the adventure playground in the summer, perhaps even more so than during winter. From the smallest to the biggest adventures, you'll find something for everyone!
The lifts of the Grand Massif provide quick access to the peaks for fantastic views, picnics, hiking, and parapenting. These activities are not limited by the lift opening dates however, so if your visit falls outside these dates, you'll still be able to enjoy the same range of activities!

Samoëns has a large open air swimming pool with 3 pools, water slides, and it is set in 6000m2 of grassy area with table tennis and volleyball areas, enabling you to relax in stunning scenery. There is also a restaurant/bar next to the pool.

Samoëns and Morillon each boast their own fantastic lake with life guarded swimming area. Lac Bleu in Morillon has an inflatable obstacle course on the water (see below), and it's own sandy beach!
The lakes are surrounded by numerous other activities such as tree top adventure parks, golf, tennis, volleyball, huge grassy areas for games, picnics, sunbathing and so much more.

The Giffre River is perfect for a range of water activities, in particular rafting and canoeing. With a professional qualified instructor, you will be able to experience the thrills of the river and rapids without any previous experience. An age limit of around 7 years is normally in place.

Located between Samoëns and Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval is a moderate grade Via Ferrata route overlooking Sixt and the beautiful mountains which surround it. For those unfamiliar with Via Ferrata, it's similar to rock climbing but the route is equipped with cables, ladders, and artificial foot and hand holds, which make it less technically difficult than traditional rock climbing.
Samoëns offers 5 tennis courts and 3 beach tennis courts, all of which are located next to the outdoor swimming pool.
The best place for fishing is the lake at the Col de Joux plane. The lake is stocked with trout and you can buy a fishing permit from the restaurant next to the lake. The views are spectacular!
