As you enter the chalet from its private drive you immediately have a sense of space. The light reflects on the clean, bright walls and high ceiling of the entrance foyer/ cloakroom with its three ski lockers and plenty of space for coats and shoes. Continue past the authentic and intricately designed Indian doorway of one of the chalet’s 6 WC’s and you enter the open-plan kitchen, dining and living area. This space is flooded with light from large windows and double French doors leading onto the 30m2 south-facing terrace, all of which offer exceptional views of the surrounding mountains and countryside.
At the heart of the house is the chalet’s kitchen. It is superbly equipped with full-size fridge and separate freezer, four ring induction hob, multifunction oven, microwave, dishwasher and a full range of kitchen equipment including pasta maker, juice extractor, and ice-cream or sorbet maker. The chef of the day can keep up with dining room conversation as they prepare the meal at the kitchen’s main workbench overlooking the large wooden dining table. There is seating for up to 12 and a centre feature of this table is the overhanging glass chandelier. In the summer months why not enjoy al fresco dining or a BBQ on the terrace? The large outdoor dining setting seats 8 to 10 in comfort. The terrace also provides a comfortable outdoor lounge setting with seating for 6 under a large parasol.
When it’s time to relax, take a cosy seat by the fire on the enormous couch in the lounge. Or if you prefer retreat to the calm and quiet of the mezzanine level with its well-stocked library and reading area. For fun and entertainment the snug or 5th bedroom on the lower level is equipped with a flat screen TV which can be linked to your personal Apple TV account, DVD player, more books, games, playing cards and a large assortment of films. There are two white leather double sofa beds located in this room to be made up when the 5th bedroom is required. The quiet hamlet of Vigny, where Chalet Eglantine is located, is steeped in agricultural history. As such the chalet’s private garden covers an area of 1300m2, upon much of which fruit trees still grow. There is one particular orchard-like cluster that provides a shady and tranquil picnic area for the summer months. In the winter months, when snow permits, the gentle slope of the chalet’s grounds make for perfect sledging terrain. Sledges are provided in the chalet.
The chalet also has private upper and lower terraces, both of which are south facing and afford beautiful views of the mountains and valley. There is parking for 3 cars on the private drive during summer, and in the winter months a tractor comes to clear the snow from the main road leading down to the house. Please note, if snow conditions are heavy there is alternative parking arrangements at the top of the road for 2 cars maximum, just a short walk back down to the chalet.
Concerning charging of electric cars, you are able to park your EV close enough to the property (snow depending!) to use your own EV charging cable and standard electrical socket within the property.
Chalet Eglantine is located in the peaceful hamlet of Vigny, 2.3km from Samoëns village up the famous Col de Joux Plane Road. "Excellent stay in this magnificent chalet. We enjoyed the comfort, the space, the large terrace, the big tables and the cosy evenings by the fire. Excellent bedding and, what's more, each room has its own water supply. We stayed with 10 people and were delighted (5 adults and 5 teenagers). It was an excellent week of skiing, games and laughter! Thank you for everything!"

"This is the third time we book with Alps Accommodation, and it is becoming better ever since. Catering service on arrival, key delivery in in time, even earlier on request. Right information about village, slopes and so on. We will book again!"
Vermeulen family, Chalet Eglantine, March 2018
"We enjoyed your house very much. We were two families, a group of 10 people. We all had our own rooms, bathrooms and privacy, as well the lovely and comfortable living and dining room. Several times we enjoyed breakfast on the terrace. We even used the gas barbecue. The sunny valley and the views are marvellous and the weather was exceptional, blue sky for six days. Every member of the group was enthusiastic, so we would like to make a reservation for next year please!"

"We have loved the comfort and space that Chalet Chambard offers. Beautiful views and fabulous weather. We've had such a great time and we've already booked for next year!"
Jones, Chalet Eglantine, April 2014
"The house was more than big enough to house our 12 membered family, including the 4 small kids. All rooms had perfect and modern bathrooms, 3 of them even have a bathtub! There were lots of games, books and outdoorsy activities in order to entertain the little ones. Like a few sleds, a nice garden to play and for emergencies a TV with loads of movies. Best feature is the fireplace, as well as the nice open kitchen and the huge dining table (and floor heating!). We were blessed with half a meter of snow on 1st Christmas Day, which made the stay even more picturesque. Especially when you get to have an outside lunch in the sun on the huge balcony with a breathtaking view. In less than 10 minutes by car we were in the centre of Samoëns, and at the ski-lift. The information provided was really helpful and saved us a few hours and a lot of struggles. The best part was the heated ski locker on top of the mountain, which made the commute there and back really easy. The village is cozy and has all you need, including great wines and some good bakeries. All in all a perfect place to have a relaxing holiday!"
Hannson family, Chalet Eglantine, Dec 2013
Penny and Uco, the Anglo-Dutch owners of Chalet Eglantine, were looking for an alpine home within easy reach of Geneva Airport in a charming, unspoilt, family-friendly village that is as fun in the summer as it is in the winter. They quickly realised that Samoëns ticked all the boxes! After searching for over two years for their ideal chalet (which had to be South-facing and with enough space for their two children and plenty of friends), they ultimately fell for the stunning views from Chalet Eglantine. They realised they could make a great conversion from what had once been a 1970s James Bond-style residence, awash with shag pile and orange tones. The chalet has been brought up to date sympathetically and stylishly, mixing modern and alpine, keeping it both cosy and bright.
