Chalet Falcon's name was inspired from it's imposing position, grand size and elegant presentation.  This luxury chalet is located in an elevated position above Samoens overlooking the dramatic cliffs of the Criou mountain and village. Spanning a light and extremely impressive 365m2, one of the largest chalets in our portfolio, the chalet comes complete with 6 stunning ensuite bedrooms, including a spacious 2-bedroom family suite, and additional family suite with 2 separate sleeping quarters and a self contained 1 bedroom apartment on the ground floor.

Chalet Falcon features a private 6x7m swimming pool, available in summer only (please contact us for exact dates outside of July and August). The pool is heated by an environmentally friendly air source heat pump to a comfortable 28oC.

The chalet offers a truly luxurious experience, including a steamy hot tub, large bedrooms with super king size beds, a log burner, two living areas, and a magnificent kitchen equipped with two ovens, two dishwashers, and a breakfast bar.  Finished to an excellent standard with a wonderful mix of French Chateau style decor and local Savoie touches, it creates a stylish and sumptuous interior, yet manages to retain a comfortable, relaxing and calm feel.  Throughout the property you will find elegant chandeliers and bed side lights, beautifully painted wardrobes and chests, plus deep comfortable sofas in the living areas.

Chalet Falcon boasts a wonderful elevated position in a quiet and tranquil location of Samoens, with truly wonderful panoramic views from every part of the chalet. Guests will enjoy looking towards the dramatic cliffs of the Criou, and admiring the birds and wildlife it presents. Despite this, the chalet remains just a 11-12 minutes' walk from Samoens village centre which offers a vast array of local shops, bars, cafes, weekly market, plus many activities such as a skating rink.  The free ski bus service is available just 300m from the chalet, with a regular service to the Grand Massif Express gondola (GME) in Samoens. Due to the steep hill to get back to the chalet, you may prefer to have use of a car, although it isn't necessary.

The chalet is surrounded by 2000m2 of private gardens with a flat lawned area, a huge south facing terrace, and a further covered terrace with hot tub and outside dining. All of which benefit from wonderful views and a sunny aspect. Table football is provided to offer fun activities for all ages.

A remote-controlled secure double garage is available, along with further parking on the private drive for several cars, while the rest of the lower floor contains a  ski/equipment storage room with ski boot dryers and a washing machine.

Chalet Falcon can also be booked as a 5 bedroom chalet sleeping 14, excluding the self contained apartment which would remain empty if the main chalet was booked. This makes Chalet Falcon ideal for a range of group sizes.

This property is privately owned and we are delighted to include it in our portfolio. It has a Sunday changeover day, however in low season and for last minute bookings, flexible arrival day and length of stay may be available. Contact us for more information.

Entering Chalet Falcon on the first floor, you arrive in the hugely impressive open plan kitchen, dining and main living area. This vast area is illuminated by large windows offering some of the best views of Samoens, the Criou, and the Haut-Giffre valley.

Chalet Falcon boasts a magnificent high-end kitchen featuring a large induction hob, two ovens, a microwave, and crucially for such a large chalet, two integrated dishwashers and a full-height integrated refrigerator. There is great overhead and under counter storage. The kitchen features a contemporary dual level peninsula style prep station and breakfast bar with four stools. The breakfast bar has been inlaid with heatproof sections specifically with fondue and raclette in mind. Excellent worksurface space is available and it is clear that the ergonomics of this kitchen have been very carefully considered. A dedicated coffee and tea station comes complete with commercial Nespresso machine, Melitta drip filter system, more traditional cafetieres. a high speed kettle for the tea drinkers, and a large capacity toaster.

A 'secret' hidden door in the kitchen gives access to a second kitchen/utility room equipped with a full height freezer, sink and even more storage/prep space. There is a WC/cloakroom off the utility room. Summer visitors will find this particularly helpful given its proximity to the swimming pool.

Conveniently located directly opposite the kitchen, and helping to create a convivial atmosphere, is the dining area which boasts 2 long wooden tables, comfortably seating large groups to 14 people on the comfy high backed chairs. Creating a lovely backdrop to this area, is the crackling warmth of the log burner, providing cosy evenings in with friends.

This impressive open plan space has been cleverly arranged to maximize the stunning views on offer.  With two contemporary sofas positioned in front of the warming log fire and separated by a coffee table creating a second living area, and providing a wonderful place to enjoy a glass of wine and another beautiful sunset via the floor to ceiling French windows. Two additional armchairs with a small table offer more seating with the same dramatic backdrop.

At the opposite of this long and open plan living area, guests will find a games area with table football, and a wooden book shelf containing an excellent collection of family games, books, and local guides and maps.  Leading off this space is an impressive TV room featuring several deep comfortable sofas set around a large LCD TV with Bowers and Wilkins TV audio system (complete with Dvd/BluRay, Apple TV and International TV channels via Freesat). Chalet Falcon delivers a fantastic elevated position within Samoens offering peace, tranquillity, and wonderful views, yet remains just a 11-12 minute walk down, or 15 minute walk back up from the historic village centre. In Samoens, you’ll find an excellent selection of local shops, cafes, bars, supermarkets, boulangeries, and butchers.

For non-skiers or those looking for a day off the slopes, the beautiful village hosts a number of activities including an ice rink, with regular ice hockey matches and ice dancing displays. Linking the villages of the Haute Giffre valley, a vast network of cross country ski pistes can be accessed from Samoens.

A car is recommended, particularly for grocery shopping, but it isn't necessary. A walk of around 300m will take you to the nearest ski bus stop, with a regular service to the Grand Massif Express gondola in Samoens, offering an efficient link into the impressive Grand Massif network (bus service may end late March)

Alternatively, if you wish to drive, it takes around 3-4 minutes and a large car park is available opposite the gondola - The Grand Massif Express. Guests using our ski equipment rental partner can benefit from equipment storage in lockers at the top of the Grand Massif Express.

In the spring, summer and autumn, an excellent network of walking paths lead directly from the chalet with trails winding up through ancient forest and hamlets towards the popular Bourgeoise mountain. Alternatively, follow the trails towards the gentle paths which follow the tumbling river Giffre, with its numerous scenic picnic spots! Road and mountain bikers are well catered for with quick and easy access to the Col de Joux Plane route, as featured in the 2016 edition of the Tour de France. For mountain bikers, world class single-track delivers you to the chalet door, including a section of trail made famous by the Enduro World Series. A short walk from the chalet, the village of Samoens offers a wealth of activities during these warmer months, including a fantastic outdoor swimming pool, tennis, horse riding, activity parks, beautiful botanical gardens, and a bustling weekly market packed full of local produce.

Property reviews

"Our stay at Chalet Falcon was nothing short of spectacular! As a large group of four families with eight kids aged 3 to 10, we found the chalet incredibly comfortable and spacious. The five ensuite bedrooms, including two family suites, provided ample space for everyone. The kids loved the swimming pool and foosball table, while the adults enjoyed the hot tub with stunning mountain views. The new, well-stocked kitchen made it easy to cook for so many people, and there was plenty of space for us to comfortably eat all together. The location was perfect, with easy access to local shops, cafes, and a variety of activities in Samoëns. Highly recommended for large groups looking for a mix of luxury and adventure!"

Eilidh, Chalet Falcon, May 2024

“We are all back from a great stay at Chalet Falcon. We loved the chalet, especially the terrace and pool and had an amazing holiday full of adventures, food and sunshine! Thank you. We would like to express our thanks also to Hugues at ZigZag who was enormously patient and organised our activities very efficiently. The guides were great, activities well run, on time and all good fun. Thank you for the recommendation.”

Dean Family, Chalet Falcon, August 2023

"We stayed at Chalet Falcon in May 2023 for a week. We were 3 families – 6 adults, 6 kids (age 3 – 9). We would definitely recommend Chalet Falcon to other families / large groups. The house is very spacious, with en suite bathrooms for all bedrooms which is a big plus when you have such a large group. The house is furnished to a high standard with all mod cons…dishwasher (x2, great for a large group), TV (Disney, Netflix etc), wifi, Sonos sound system. Kids playroom also comes with board games which kept the kids entertained. Outside area of the home is outstanding – a private, heated pool, hot tub and spectacular views from the deck. We enjoyed BBQs in the evening as well. With regards to the local area, Samoens is jam packed with things to do – hikes, swimming in local lakes (if you get tired of the private pool – unlikely), mountain biking, a quaint town with French “essentials” – bakery, fromagerie and wine shop. Very accessible from Geneva – less than a 90 minute drive - which made the trip hassle free from London. Andy (property manager) was there to greet us, available for any questions and communication was excellent. Highly recommend to anyone else wanting a great base for a group holiday in a well appointed home in a beautiful part of the world."

Ekblom, Chalet Falcon, May 2023

"Fantastic property.  We took the full chalet (including the self contained apartment) and it was perfect for our group. Stunning views and the hot tub was a big hit with the group."

Alvin, Chalet Falcon, January 2023

"The exceptional Chalet Falcon gave us everything we needed for a fantastic Christmas break. Being a few minutes' drive up the hillside from Samoens, the views are simply breathtaking in every direction. The large terrace for soaking up those views and the welcome hot tub were a big hit with our group. The chalet itself is beautiful and airy - very spacious, very comfortable and extremely well kitted out for our large party. Particularly appreciated touches were the helpful reminder by the door of what you need on the slopes, the ski boot warmer rack and the table football. The bedrooms are large and comfortable and the design of the chalet means there is plenty of communal space, but also quiet areas to relax and soak up those views again. The area itself is so pretty with a lovely market in the traditional French village and great restaurants. I imagine it would be just as spectacular in the summer, particularly as the chalet has its own pool. We'll definitely be returning to Chalet Falcon!"

Reece, Chalet Falcon, Christmas 2022

"The chalet is nestled in the Alps, close enough that you can walk into town, but high enough up that you enjoy fantastic views from it’s many balconies. It’s very spacious, offering ample room for entertaining and is packed with chalet essentials such as fondue and raclette kits! The fact that it boosts a hot tub and a swimming pool just gives it that total feeling of luxe living. Highly recommend this chalet for both winter and summer holidays. Thanks very much."

Laura, Chalet Falcon, July 2022

"We loved our stay at Chalet Falcon.  There were 12 of us in total and plenty of space for us all; in fact, it can sleep quite a few more!  All the bedrooms are nicely decorated and comfortable, as well as each having a modern ensuite. The communal areas were also great for such a large group.  The 2 dishwashers were fantastic!  There is both an outdoor heated pool and hot tub, and the large wraparound outdoor space meant that you could make the most of the spectacular mountain views this property has to offer. We came in May and there was lots to do for both adults and children in the surrounding areas.  All in all, we had a fantastic stay and wouldn't hesitate to return."

Pang, Chalet Falcon, May 2022

"Chalet Falcon is very beautiful and spacious. Hot tub, TV lounge, table football...the children were delighted and so were we!"

Peyrol, Chalet Falcon, March 2021

"It was truly the loveliest chalet we have ever stayed in. It was incredibly spacious and beautifully appointed. There was loads of hot water for multiple showers etc. The boot room was very spacious. Loved both the table football."

Danby Party, Chalet Falcon, February 2018

"I loved the chalet. I thought it was beautiful and well laid out. The bedrooms were spacious and it was great to enjoy the living room and TV snug. I loved the furniture which I thought gave a very individual touch. The combination of the rooms was ideal for a group of friends with kids and the table football was great fun for all. I would definitely recommend the chalet to other people. One of the nicest places I have ever stayed."

Taylor party, Chalet Falcon, February 2018

"We had a fabulous time in Samoens at Chalet Falcon. The chalet has a very relaxed feel to it, lots of films to watch and lots of sociable areas to have chats. All of the utilities were very easy to use and the arrival pack was a lifesaver! We had a brilliant time, would highly recommend and would love to go back!"

Eldridge party, Chalet Falcon, February 2018

"Chalet Falcon is amazing. The views are stunning and the space inside is immense. It is a super comfortable chalet and the kitchen is really well kitted out with all you need to cater for 2 or 18 people in style. Samoens is a beautiful town and if you don’t want to cook it has some great restaurants which are easy to walk to for dinner."
