Chalet Gentiane Bleue

Walking into Chalet Gentiane Bleue there is a wonderfully comfortable, homely atmosphere of this chalet. A great deal of care and attention has been injected, which is immediately obvious with the exceptionally high quality fixtures and fittings at every turn. You enter the chalet into the entrance hall with a cloakroom/WC, past a lovely pair of snow racquets and into a spacious open plan kitchen area.  The wonderful farmhouse style kitchen, has been equipped to the highest standard. The Falcon range cooker with 2 ovens and separate grill, makes preparing meals a breeze, while hinting at the treasures hidden deeper within.  The kitchen also comes complete with a large combined fridge/freezer, plus another fridge and freezer, a dishwasher, Dolce Gusto coffee machine, while a large island unit provides a huge amount of work surface and storage space for items such as the raclette set for cheese lovers.

Coming into the impressive dining area, you see the long wooden table, but your attention will be undoubtedly drawn to a beautiful pair of unique antler chandeliers situated above. This spacious dining area can comfortably seat up to 10/12 people, with views enjoyed through to the side terraces and across the living area to the log burner and double French doors.

Offering supreme comfort and stunning views from the chalets elevated position, the bright living area is a wonderful place to relax after a busy day in the mountains. Sink into the huge, deep corner sofa with the warmth and crackle of the log burner, your aches and pains will drift away! A pair of vibrant armchairs offer additional seating while an attractive chair and standing lamp are positioned in a quiet corner just off the main lounge. A large LCD TV with satellite receiver provides entertainment, while guests will also find an iPod dock and free WiFi.

Hidden away in a secret den under the stairs next to the dining area, is a great selection of kids games and toys, to keep the little ones well amused on holiday.

Additional facilities are offered on the ground floor of the chalet, which contains a laundry with washing machine, separate dryer and sink. A table tennis table is also available.

Chalet Gentiante Bleue offers 6 uniquely designed bedrooms spread over 3 levels, each offering a wonderful mix of beautiful wood, exposed beams, and high quality fixtures and fittings. In common with elsewhere in the chalet, the rooms have been thoughtfully decorated and offer luxurious linen, towels and soft furnishings to ensure comfort is at its highest.

On the second level of the property is bedroom 1, a simply stunning master bedroom suite with private bathroom and WC. You enter the designated corridor and as you turn the corner, you can't help but be impressed by the stunning views over Samoens, visible also from the luxurious super king sized bed.  The beautifully dressed bed takes centre stage in the room under the double height ceiling with exposed wood beams, and a gorgeous light hanging in the eaves.  Excellent storage is provided by three built in wardrobes. The ensuite bathroom boasts a wonderful freestanding roll top bath and his and her sinks, both featuring elegant chrome taps. The bathroom also contains a large shower, while a WC is available separately.

Bedroom 2, also located on the second level of the chalet, is a delightful ensuite double bedroom, bright and fresh with a high quality blue fabric bed and wonderful print curtains. Light floods the room from two corner windows, while also providing fabulous views over the valley. Storage is provided by a large built in wardrobe. The ensuite bathroom features a large shower, plus a sink with attractive vanity unit. A separate WC is also available.

An additional spacious family bathroom is located on the second level comprising of a roll top bath, large shower, sink with vanity unit, towel radiator and WC.

Moving up to the third level of the chalet, we have the remaining bedrooms. Bedroom 3 is a beautiful single bedroom featuring stencilled wallpaper and an LCD TV. The sloping ceiling of this bedroom is partly below 1.8m high, but provides a really cosy snug feel, with the generous amount of floor space making the room an ideal den for kids (big or small!).

Bedroom 4 is a charming bedroom featuring a beautiful rustic wood clad walls and cupboards.  Individually designed, the owners clever choices of quality Savoyard décor, create a  luxurious alpine feel which is ever so welcoming.  Fantastic views over the village are on offer from a south facing window, while good storage is available in a pair of built in wardrobes.

Bedroom 5 is a real delight, a triple bedroom which combines more impressive carpentry work of intricately carved details in the old wood. This creates a wonderfully cosy and comfortable atmosphere. The room has three hand built single beds with drawers, plus a desk and chair area. Storage is provided by a series of built in shelves incorporating more textures of wood and beams. The character quirky shape and ceilings of this bedroom means there are sections of restricted head height below 1.8m. 

Bedrooms 3, 4 and 5 share a further family bathroom located on the third level.  This comes complete with a large shower, sink and WC. 

Bedroom 6 is a bright and spacious king size ensuite bedroom, located on the lower ground floor level.  It has a private entrance, accessed via external stairs. This can be made up as 2 singles beds or 1 x super king.  The bathroom consists of a shower, bath, sink and WC.

A further WC and sink are located in the entrance hallway of the chalet.

Chalet Gentiane Bleue is a detached 3 storey chalet, which has been renovated to include an extension to the front, making the most of its south facing aspect.  A large terraced garden, with luxurious hot tub, surrounds all four sides of the chalet and offers a wonderful area to play, relax, or simply take in the magnificent views to the dramatic peaks which tower of Samoens.

The chalet features 2 large terraces. The first, a large 20m2 south facing terrace, is a fabulous place for al fresco dining with a glorious backdrop. The second, facing south and west, benefits from afternoon sun and offers a place to escape from the summer heat. The lower section of the garden features a grass lawn area.  A BBQ is available for your use.

Private off street parking is available for at least 3 cars, while equipment storage is available in a locked garage. You are able to charge your electric car from the garage using your own EV charging cable and standard electrical socket.
