Always keen to keep their properties fresh and up to date, many of our owners have been busy making updates and improvements to their properties recently. There are now a number of properties that have had small improvements inside, such as the addition of Fibre Internet, EV chargers, Smart TV’s, Bluetooth speakers, Nespresso machines, larger beds, raclette and fondue machines for you to enjoy the local cheese dishes in the comfort of your accommodation, as well as increasing and improving kitchen and general household items.
On top of that, the following properties have had, or are currently undergoing, some major improvements:
Since taking on the ownership of Chalet Falcon in 2020, the new owners have made some huge investments, notably the 6 x 7m swimming pool, heated by an environmentally friendly air source heat pump, which was first enjoyed by guests in the summer of 2022. This autumn, the chalet is undergoing a complete kitchen re-design! As I type, the old kitchen is being ripped out ready for the new one to be installed imminently. The ultra-high-end kitchen has been designed by a local company and will feature a dedicated coffee and tea station complete with commercial Nespresso machine, Melitta drip filter system and more traditional cafetieres, a large induction hob, two ovens, a microwave, full height integrated refrigerator, and of course ample worktop surface, overhead and under counter storage. Crucially, for such a large chalet there will also be two integrated dishwashers. The kitchen will also feature a contemporary dual level peninsula style prep station and breakfast bar with four stools.
Also new for the coming season are new curtains throughout the ground floor of the chalet, plus a WC/cloakroom off the utility room. Summer visitors will find this addition particularly helpful given its proximity to the swimming pool.
Photos and more information to come as soon as it’s been finished.
Spring 2023 has seen Maison Deux Coeurs partly cladded, and new balconies installed, giving it a much fresher and modern look, as well as significantly improving the insulation of the chalet, making it more environmentally friendly. A traditional ‘maison’ of the area, it now ties in with the more popular chalet-style houses we have come to know in the Alps.
The terrace around the hot tub/infinity pool has also had a makeover, and now features a smart tiled patio area with a new pergola, planters and lighting to make the most of the late summer evenings.
Photos to come very soon.
Another chalet that has changed owners in the last 2 years. Since taking on Chalet Moccand and The Mazot, the new owners have installed 3 EV chargers between the 2 properties and have made small changes inside. This autumn a major programme of works is taking place at Chalet Moccand to significantly improve the energy efficiency and environmental rating of the chalet. Through a combination of high-grade wall insulation and locally sourced wood cladding, the chalet will be designed to meet a better energy rating, whilst maintaining its special Haute-Savoie character. Windows and doors are also having an upgrade to make sure the chalet will keep you and your family and friends’ cosy and warm through the winter months. It is back on rentals from December 2023.
Photos to come in December once it’s finished.
It’s been a year since Chalet Beziere has had a kitchen make-over, but we thought it would be worth mentioning as so many of you will have stayed there the last few years. The owners have knocked the wall between the original kitchen and the dining area, making a huge open-plan kitchen-diner. This area is perfect for large groups so those on cooking duty can still be part of the fun and games. The locally designed contemporary kitchen has been a big hit so far. There’s a huge amount of storage and workspace, including a breakfast bar, and even features 2 electric fan ovens.
Old news for some, but we couldn’t leave without mentioning the radical change in La Maison Blanche over the last year or so! La Maison Blanche has been part of our portfolio for many years, so we know that many of you reading this will have stayed there, but were you aware of the changes that the new owner has made since summer 2022. Take a look at the photos, most of the furniture has been replaced with funky, modern and luxurious new furniture and furnishings, and the ground floor games room/second living area is just stunning! Designed to keep the kids entertained while the adults relax upstairs, but we’re certain the adults will enjoy this space just as much as the children!
